Contraband Days 2008
The first weekend of Contraband Days was a huge success under blue skies and relatively calm winds. The Lake Charles Power Squadron held its annual D/21 Raftup and participated in both the "Show your Dinghy" contest and the "Lighted Boat Parade". Our Squadron was particularily honored to have the USPS Chief Commander Creighton Maynard and his wife Glenda join us during the festivities.Thank you and your entourage P/D/C Tom Derden and wife Mary. You looked great dressed up as real pirates accompanied by your wenches.
Contraband Days - Show Your Dinghy
If you cannot guess by the name of our event and these pictures, we had a great time sponsoring the 1st annual "Show Your Dinghy" contest at Contraband Days. The event was very successful and well received by the community. Our goal is to bring water events back to Contraband Days and we are off to a great start! There so many people to thank for making this possible but special thanks to Lt/C Irene Howse for taking on this project from start to finish and Craig Dupont with Dupont Sewer for sponsoring the event.
Contraband Days - Kelly McGuire Concert
The LCPS in conjunction with Mr. Gatti's Pizza and Dupont Sewer & Consulting sponsored the 2nd Annual Concert on the Water featuring the music of Kelly McGuire. Once again, Kelly played to a sold out crowd of VIP guests aboard the M/V L'Attitude as well as a large group of boaters in Lake Charles and a big group of fans on the steps of the Civic Center Seawall. Please take a moment to look through the pictures from our event!

The Lake Charles Power Squadron is proud to support these organizations with our local Co-Op Charting Program.
The Lake Charles Sail & Power Squadron conducts free Vessel Safety inspection as a service to our community.
