The Grand Opening of the Bord du lac Marina in Lake Charles could not have been any better! The marina was filled beyond capacity with almost 50 boats. The LCSPS played a huge role in the celebration and showed the community what is possible if we continue embrace our waterfront facilities.
The LCSPS was recognized by the Mayor of Lake Charles for our contributions and active support that we provided to the marina and lakefront projects. R/C Jean Hamilton, SN was a guest aboard 'Contraband‘ and was the special guest that conducted the christening cere-mony on behalf of the USPS.
On Friday evening, our own Al Touchet played aboard the L‘Attitude for all of the boaters at the marina. It was a great party and excellent way to promote the LCSPS to the community and out of town visitors. We hope to continue the tradition and make a monthly event at the new marina. Stay tuned to your email and news from Nancy Rogers on upcoming events.
Special thanks to Tom Moilanen for once again, pro-viding the L‘Attitude and agreeing to host the party. Also, thanks to Al Touchet for several hours of entertainment and promoting the LCSPS. Also, special thanks our friends in the Sabine squadron for coming over to help us celebrate. Also, thanks to all of those out of town visitors that made the trip to enjoy the celebration.
The new marina and lakefront promenade are the new icons of our lakefront. Let‘s build on our mo-mentum and keep our organization involved and engaged in our community!

The Lake Charles Power Squadron is proud to support these organizations with our local Co-Op Charting Program.
The Lake Charles Sail & Power Squadron conducts free Vessel Safety inspection as a service to our community.
